You can record your in-person meeting in Sembly, no need to create a conference call if you're all in one room. We recommend using hardware devices for a more defined sound quality and the best transcription result. You can also use your device's local microphone.
Note that the Audio Recorder is a feature designed for in-person meetings. If you attempt to record an online meeting happening in another tab, your microphone most likely won't capture any sound coming from the speakers. To ensure a successful recording, don't refresh the page or switch tabs, and ensure you have a stable internet connection.
If you prefer mobile devices, use a mobile browser, not the mobile app, as the apps do not receive updates.
Enter your Sembly account and click the + New Meeting on the upper right side of the screen, select Record Audio
You can change a meeting title in the title field
Click the microphone on the left side of the title area to apply audio permissions
Allow Sembly access to your microphone
Choose the microphone you wish to use from a dropdown list
Below, select the language. If you speak two languages, select your second language as an additional, so the transcription is correct
Start your dialogue. You can pause the record if needed and resume it at the bottom of the recording
It's recommended to monitor the screen occasionally: ensure the recording is "live" (not "paused") and check for error messages in the bottom-left corner, such as "Sembly can't hear you" - Once you are finished, click Done to save the meeting
If you wish to cancel the recording, you can click Delete on the left side of the recording window
Ensure that the default microphone in your browser settings is your device's microphone or the provided external microphone.
If you are a Safari user, using the built-in microphone for recordings is preferable. If you connect an external microphone to your laptop or PC for an enhanced experience, we recommend using Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or Edge to make recordings.
