Sembly is a powerful tool for generating Meeting Notes with meeting types like "Generic" and other options (marked with a ★) designed to streamline the process. These predefined meeting types come with structured formats tailored to common scenarios.
But what if your preferred structure for meeting notes isn’t available among Sembly’s default templates? Whether you need a unique layout for a brainstorming session, a project debrief, or a custom workflow, you can still craft notes that match your vision. Here’s a simple, effective workaround to produce meeting notes with a custom structure in Sembly.
In-meeting AI Chat
Once your meeting is recorded and processed, Sembly provides an AI-powered chat feature similar to ChatGPT, located in the bottom-right corner of the interface, styled like a brand label.
If you have a specific structure in mind that isn’t provided by Sembly’s meeting types, follow these steps to create tailored notes:
- Open the meeting in your Sembly meeting list
- Click the AI Meeting Chat icon (bottom-right)
- Ask the AI to create Meeting Notes for you. Type your desired notes structure into the chat. For example:
Project Debrief Notes 1. Goals: [List objectives] 2. Outcomes: [Summarize results] 3. Feedback: [Capture input] 4. Action Items: [Assign tasks]
- Copy the Chat outcome. Review the AI’s output in the chat window. Copy it (Ctrl+C / Cmd+C).
- Paste It into Sembly’s Meeting Notes. Select and delete the existing AI-generated notes (or the section you want to replace). Paste your copied structure from the chat (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V). Edit as needed to polish it, using the transcript for extra details if the AI didn’t cover everything.
Semblian 2.0 Artifacts
Semblain 2.0 add-on could be an interesting solution for custom documents (Artifacts). It lets you create any document based on one or more meetings. Whether it’s a detailed report, a multi-meeting summary, or a unique format, Semblian 2.0 offers flexibility beyond standard notes. Check our step-by-step guide on this page.
This feature is not included in your standard subscription. You can test it out with a 7-day trial - no need to subscribe everyone in your workspace - making it a low-risk way to see if it fits your needs.
